About this item
This is an antique embossed fire screen. An English, oak and leather fireside guard in Arts and Crafts taste, dating to the Edwardian period.
Strikingly unusual and of superb craftsmanship. Displays a desirable aged patina throughout. Wavy oak frame shows fine grain interest and deep russet hues. Press stud borders unite the dark tanned leather with the frame.
Incredible embossed leather screen a testament to the craftsman's skill. Depicting a forest hunting scene, a hunting dog chases a galloping stag through a glade. Graced with copious fine detail, the reverse shows light caramel hues and natural leather grain. Raised upon a pair of trestle feet with block toes.
This is a fascinating and striking antique embossed fire screen. Superb leather detail is set to captivate in any room. Delivered waxed, polished and ready for the fireside.
