Antique French Bistro mirror with silverleafed frame
Early 20th century rectangular French Bistro mirror with outcurving silverleafed frame and original glass with light age. After years of dusting, where the silverleaf has thinned on parts of the frame, you can see horizontal lines where the sheets of silverleaf overlapped when originally applied, leaving a narrow, fractionally thicker, band. The glass is initialled and dated A P 2.01 which is likely to be the date of manufacture (February 1901) and this elegant mirror can be hung portrait, as photographed, or landscape.
