Antique French mirror with serpentine top and cartouche
Antique, French, serpentine top mirror, circa 1890, with wide, gilt frame which has a central etched banded design between a high raised, outcurving border on the outer edge and beading along the sight edge (edge closest to the glass). The mirror is decorated at the top with a curled acanthus leaf flanked by flowers and leaves and has original, bevelled glass which is in very good condition. This mirror would work well as an overmantel, hung with space between the mantel and base of the mirror.
