Antique French reeded framed Directoire mirror

Early 19th century French Directoire mirror with gilt reeded frame. After more than 200 years of dusting, the gold leaf has thinned revealing the terracotta bole and cream gesso beneath. The original mercury glass has light, wispy, age, sparkles when it catches the light and gives an excellent reflection. This mirror can be hung portrait (as photographed) or landscape.
