Aesthetic Movement walnut games or card table, the rectangular top, with moulded edge, swivels and opens to reveal a scarlet baize interior. Within the frieze is a tray to accommodate cards and games. The under-frame has an elaborate moulded frieze with baluster turnings, terminating with sunbursts. Stands upon turned tapered legs with carved capitols to rings with original gilding, terminating with brass & china castors. Impressed maker’s mark Debenham & Hewett. Nos 1226//9470 Cheltenham England 1876 - 1883
