About this item
A horse racing game called 'The Handicap Race Game' dating to approximately the 1940s. It includes a very decorative tinplate spinner featuring beautifully lithographed colour images of 8 horses and jockeys in mid race. The horses' names include Mickey Mouse, Desert Night and Daytona. There is an arrow spinner on top which spins freely. It is complete with its original box, the inside of which is printed with the runners and their odds and would have been used to place bets before the 'race' was run. The game is marked 'Reliable Series - British Made'. A charming vintage game that displays well.
The spinner is in good condition with minor wear. The box is complete but has some wear and minor repair.
Measurements given are for the spinner.
