A fine example of a "gaming" box with pointer included on the lid and the various suits of cards...it would have been used in the game of "knock out whist" and is made of bone....the top of the lid and pointer....the body of the box is made of horn engraved with the suits of cards...and beech the base of the box and the lid rim...in excellent condition.
