DUNDAS VISCOUNT MELVILLE: FULL ARMS ETC.

Super rare style of counter made circa 1810 for Henry Dundas Viscount Melville. Large size and the very rare combination of 'wavy-edge' style and vine-and-moth border -   this was not an off-the-peg order from Canton. Crest, coronet of a Viscount, arms, supporters and motto with a superb full scene to the reverse. Dundas had two sets made at around the same time - as happened on occasions for the very rich - one for his main residence and another for a secondary home with less armorial detail. Please note the rare extra-large size.
