About this item
Set of three shapes made for CHYNWETH ( CHYNOWETH) with finely fretted border, made circa 1840. Chynweth was a Cornish tin-miner who had to emigrate to find work when the Cornish tinmines ran out of ore; he went to Mexico to work the mines of MAXIMILIAN THE GREAT of Mexico. I wonder if he took his set of counters with him??
