    Matched pair of early gaming counters made circa 1730 for TOWER of WEALD HALL, ESSEX. It was usual at this time for sets of counters to contain two shapes only - the round and fish. The round counter gained some notoriety when it is reported that it was worn on a pendant by one of the early female Poker world champions - who had the motto LOVE tattooed on the knuckles of one hand and DREAD on the other.
