About this item
A large glass shop display jar that held 'Owd Tom's Cough Tablets', made by Selwyn Lumb of Sowerby Bridge in West Yorkshire. The product is advertised as 'The Peoples Popular Preventative Against Infection'. The jar is made of plain clear glass with a paper label to the side. It is complete with its original hammered aluminium lid. It dates to around the 1940s to 1950s. It would make a great display piece in a kitchen or bathroom.
There are a couple of small nicks to the rim of the jar and a little denting to the lid, but overall it is in good original condition.
