About this item
A very attractive and fine quality silver and cut glass glass butter dish. A silver circular stand with wavy edge, with raised ring frame held atop 4 baluster knopped stems, each attached through the dish to a ball foot below. The original cut glass dish with star cut base and criss-cross decoration around the sides fits perfectly in the frame and and a plain polished cover with pagoda style knop sits inside the rim.
The cover, base and frame are all hallmarked for Sheffield 1905, makers James Deakin & Sons (John & William F Deakin).
It measures 16.5cm (6 1/2") wide and 11.5cm (4 1/2") high. The dish is 12.7cm (5") wide. Total weight is 788g, silver weight 363g / 11.7ozt.
Condition is very good with no damage or repair with either silver or glass including no chips or frits to the glass. Minor and appropriate handling wear, just some light surface marks to the stand.
