    A very unusual Ellen Houghton of Minton tiled Arts and Crafts walnut hall stand with matching hall chairs. The whole having tiles decorated with "Days of the Week" from Monday to Sunday showing working scenes of the day. The hall stand having a moulded cornice above a carved frieze joining carved and pierced corners which retain the 6 original brass coat hooks. The centre has a bevel edged mirror plate which is in good condition and flanked by the stiles which retain 4 larger brass coat hooks.Below are the impress marked Minton tiles from "Tuesday to Friday” with a shelf and drawer under and umbrella / stick stand holders. The platform base with Saturday’s tile with drip pans to either side.The walnut hall chairs contain tiles for "Monday & Sunday” and are set within moulded frames. Dimensions:- Hall Stand- Height…78.25’’/ 199cm. Width…46.5’’/ 118cm. Depth…13.5’’/ 34cm.  Chair Dimensions-Height…35.5’’/ 90cm. Width…17.75’’/ 65cm. Depth…16.5’’/ 42cm.
