    About this item

A mid 19th century faience Botijo barrel or drinking flask, made in the Talavera area of Spain. It has been attractively hand decorated in colours typical of this sort of ware. To one side is a dog, to the other a bird. It bears no maker's marks. As is usual with faience ware, there is a little minor chipping and flaking to the glaze.
