About this item
19th century Venetian mirror with a very unusual shape of curved top and incurving sides and base set between outset corners. The wide frame has scallop cut outer and inner edges and an etched design of wheat ears which form an oval pattern. Each section of frame is held in place with a glass leaf which is secured with little glass flower-topped screws. The original, bevelled glass has wispy, cobwebby age in the upper section which gently clears towards the mirror base and this mirror would make a very attractive and unusual overmantel.
