This is an antique decorative jardiniere. An English, bird's eye maple planter pot with octagonal form, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820.
Striking figuring and colour presents a fascinating appeal. Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order. Dashing bird's eye maple stocks show fine grain interest. Rich russet and caramel hues beam beneath a wax polish finish.
Octagonal in form, the perimeter dressed with a gilt metal gallery rail. Inlaid panel's with walnut borders provides eye-catching contrast. Ornate gilt metal handles with scrolled leaf motif.
This is an attractive antique decorative jardiniere, with fascinating form and superb grain interest. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
