This is an antique hexagonal spice jar. A Japanese, glazed earthenware lidded pot, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1880.
Striking colour and charming decoration from the Meiji period. Displays a desirable aged patina, some marks commensurate with age. Distinctive hexagonal form a delight of bright green glaze. Inset panels host foliate relief. Tapering circular lid with concentric detail in natural finish
This is an appealing antique spice jar, a treat for collectors of the Meiji period of Japanese decorative ware. Delivered polished and ready to enjoy.
