About this item
A pretty George III silver pedestal cream jug with ornate shaped handle with acanthus cast thumb rest and gadrooned rim. Later embossed decoration to the main body including a framed cartouche to the front with stylised monogram. Set on a circular foot with ribbed and stepped detail. Hallmarked for London 1767, maker's mark partially obscured but think it is BM.
It measures 12cm (4 11/16") high, 10.7cm (4 1/4") spout to handle and 6.5cm (2 1/2") wide. It weighs 128g / 4.1ozt and has a sensible capacity of 150ml / 1/4 pint.
Condition is very good. There is a very small area of repair at the bottom of the handle to the left side, neat and not detracting. No dents or damage. The hallmarks are partially rubbed but overall surface condition is good with only minor wear appropriate for age.
