About this item
An exceptionally rare George II silver gilt lidded cup. Made in London in 1748 by William Cripps. The gilding is original and showing slight loss to the very high points. Both the lid and the cup are fully hallmarked. Generally the cup and lid are in excellent condition with no damage or repairs. There is an original coat of arms on the front along with card cut decoration on the lid and base. Both handles have acanthus leaf decorations and are "S" shaped.
