About this item
An attractive George III silver cream jug of oval shape with squared strap handle. Bright cut engraved frieze below the rim of a running vine, a small floral device below the spout and leaf edged cartouche with engraved initials. Hallmarks to the front, King George III, lion passant and maker's mark for Richard Ferris of Exeter. No town assay mark or date letter but c.1795-1810.
It measures 9.8cm (3 7/8") high, 12cm (4 3/4") spout to handle and 7cm (2 3/4") wide. It weighs 100g / 3.2ozt.
In very good condition: a very neat professional repair to the top of the handle. No damage or dents, minor handling wear only to the outside, engraving and marks are clear. Some minor surface marks inside.
