About this item
A well made 18thc Oak inlaid Salt Box...it has fruitwood crossbanding to the front with an attractive inlaid lozenge and a very pleasing open fretwork handle....the colour is very good from years of use in the farmhouse kitchen...there is a lovely early repair to the fretwork , beautifully done a long time ago as it has the same patination as the rest of the box , and obviously by a very capable craftsman as it is a fine repair....it is so nice to see these items have had a life..!
Welsh. C1780-90.
