About this item
Beautiful very nice Italian solid poplar wood kitchen table, 1850s. The table is very simple and linear, characterized by solid turned legs. Equipped with a large drawer internally divided because it was used to contain cutlery separately. The top of this table opens like a book page and doubles in size to accommodate more guests at the table. This type of tables in the 19th century were used in the kitchens of Italian families and the women prepared the dough for the pasta on the open top and left it in the internal compartment during the leavening time. The dimensions of the top when it is open are cm 118 x 90 / inch 46,45 x 35,43.
