About this item
A fine example of a mid 18thc wrought iron two pronged fork....this would have been used for toasting meat over the open down hearth fire....it is very nice quality and I particularly like the "twist" decoration to the centre of the handle....the way the end of the fork handle is curved over is typical of continental forks of this period and later....excellent colour and condition.
Continental / French. C1750-70.
