About this item
A 19th century, bubble and squeak chopper. Bubble and squeak is a meal which was made using the left over potatoes and vegetables. They were thrown into a frying pan together and chopped up using this form of chopper. The shape allows you to chop the food, over the edge of the pan, without burning your hands. This example is marked “TAYLOR SHEFFIELD” and dates from c.1860. The handle is turned from oak and this is attached to the blade with a brass collar. There is pitting to the blade, from use, but otherwise it is in very good, usable condition.
Dimensions: Length 29.4cm. Height 9.2cm. Diameter of handle 2.8cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £20. Most of Western Europe add £10.
