About this item
A silver plated hatelet skewer with an attractive classical design to the end. This piece dates from c.1880 and it is in excellent condition. The design, which incorporates a shell and foliage, is often seen in plasterwork and classical borders. This type of skewer was used for ornamenting meat or desserts when taking them to the table.
