    About this item

A lovely quality, 19th century steel cleaver in the shape of a pigeon. This cleaver would have been for cutting sugar or ice in the confectioners kitchen. It is well formed, although the pigeon does appear to have four legs, and it has a horn handle which is attached by copper and brass rivets. A small, copper rivet forms the eye of the bird. It is French and it dates from c.1880. There is pitting to the blade, from use, and there is some marking to the horn handle. Otherwise it is in good condition.

    Dimensions: Length 31cm. Width 2cm. Height 20cm.

Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £25. Most of Western Europe add £10.
