    About this item

Three nice examples of "slip top" or "slipped" spoons made of pewter and all dating to the 17thc.....all three spoons are nicely marked with the makers stamp and one has the owners initials....the marks are all of a crowned rose, one clearly stamped with the makers initials IG ....I have looked in "Old Pewter - its makers and marks" by H.Cotterell and they don't appear in the book and my feeling is that the two with "fig" shaped bowls are English and the one with the round bowl is Continental.....all are excellent examples  of 17thc pewter spoons of the period....

    English & Continental. 17thc.
