About this item
A large Victorian oblong vinaigrette, made in Birmingham by Cronin and Wheeler in 1848. The exterior is engine turned with stunning cast edges and there is an inscription "Marion from Mother". The interior has a beautifully fret cut grill with flowers and leaves. The hinges are tight and the lid fits well. The interior is hallmarked on the top, bottom and grill. The gilding is reasonable with some pitting. This is an unusually large vinaigrette of superb quality.
