John Ryland London Open Face Pocket Watch 1770
with Rare Silver Movement
A gilt metal key wind pair case open face pocket watch with a rare silver movement, made in London in the 1770’s.
Dial: The white enamel dial has black Roman numerals with outer minute divisions. The dial has blued steel beetle and poker hands.
Movement: The gilt full plate movement has genuine silver decorated cock and a fusee verge. The movement has a pierced and engraved balance cock with blued regulation and square baluster pillars. The movement is signed: “John Ryland, London” and numbered: 1778.
A fusee verge movement with silver decoration is very rare!
Case: The watch lies in a polished inner and outer pair case with smooth finish on all cases. Please see pictures!
