An impressive humidor by Glynn Lockett applied with Crocodile skin and gilt mounts.

The top surmounted with a crocodile with sapphire eyes, next to an undulating lapis lazuli panel simulating a river, the cedar wood fitted interior with gilt cigar cutter and piercer above a drawer fitted with paraphernalia including a gilt metal razor blade, small oval box, straw, and spoon and mirrored panel.

Glynn Lockett studied Art and Sculpture, before setting up his own restoration studio where he started to make his own objects using rare and precious materials. Influenced by the great 16th century collectors of ethnographic and natural history artefacts originally displayed in cabinets of curiosities of Kunsthammer, his pieces all using natural and often precious materials, have a both historical and modern twist exploring the symbiosis between the finished artwork and the materials used.
