    About this item

A sophisticated mid-century, Toothill, three-piece suite; fully-restored by our master craftspeople and skilfully upholstered in a luxe velvet by Misia, Paris.

The wood, which is afromosia, has been sympathetically cleaned then waxed and buffed to perfection.

Toothill produced some of Britain's most memorable furniture of the mid 20th century. The company was founded by Reg Toothill and originally focused on making covers for existing sofas but by the 1960s they concentrated on furniture. Using afromosia timber, rather than teak, they produced some of the most iconic furniture of the time. Toothill was a small company and their production limited, compared to other manufacturers of the time, thus making their furniture rare and highly collectible

For Misia, "Each new launch is the fruit of a voyage or an artistic, cultural or emotional experience. The first collection, naturally, began in Paris, birthplace of art and creativity at the beginning of the last century. Since then, the brand has packed its suitcases and travelled in the company of its designer."

Each year, the color schemes are selected and perfected by Florence Vermelle, the designer and artistic director of Misia

The brand pays special attention to the origin of its products and how the fabrics are made. The weavers are mainly from Europe and are carefully selected to offer the best quality products. The collections of exclusive fabrics are testimony to the craftsmanship and heritage of master dyers.

Misia’s products are inspected with the utmost care, and their manufacturing processes follow the standards of high quality set by the brand.

Faithful to French manufacturing traditions and codes of refinement, Misia’s approach, which focuses on research, diversity and confrontation, aims to offer each year, products that are in step with their time, by using new innovative techniques in textiles, furnishings and wall coverings.
