About this item
A very attractive leather suitcase dating to about the 1940s/50s. It is lined with blue & white striped ticking type fabric and has the initials 'JRB' impressed on the top. Adding to its appeal are the remains of some old travel labels, including a couple for the Great Western Railway. It does not bear any maker's marks. The leather is still in good condition and has a beautifully aged, mellow patina. The stitching is still good, and the hinges and snap locks still function well, but the key is missing. The handle is still sturdy.
This gorgeous old case is a little musty inside, but is a lovely decorative piece.
