    This is a large antique London triptych map. An English, framed parchment city plan, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1880.

    Fascinating in size and detail, with a view of London during the William IV period Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order Each engraving plate segmented and pasted on linen in the Victorian era When butted together, the whole is an impressive 2.64m in width Covers a wide area of London and its boroughs, as surveyed in 1832 Skilfully printed by George Frederick Cruchley on a quality linen backing Engravings recreated from the Grand Trigonometrical Survey of England by the Board of Ordinance Keyed at a scale of half a mile, with 1 inch equating to a Furlong (8th of a mile) Familiar landmarks including Tower of London, Hyde Park and Westminster Fine detail to individual streets, parks, institutions and commercial services The River Thames winds its way through the map, with light blue colouration Set within modern ebonised frames, with hanging wire to rear for ease of mounting

    This is a superb antique triptych London map, with great detail of the city as it stood nearly 200 years ago. Contemporary framing affords each of the three panels to be displayed butted against, or set apart from each other. A striking sight as arranged. Delivered polished and ready to showcase.
