    The watch has a balance which swings and when prodded the watch ticks for a few beats however the click, winding wheel and mainspring all need attention. The watch does not work

    This watch was made in Switzerland and sent to Argentina where it was given away as a promotional watch with cigars

    Movement – the nickel bridge movement has a lever escapement and is decorated with damascening. The movement has a patent mark 27838 and the movement is in 80% mint condition – missing plate screw and case screw and scratches

    Case – the movement comes in a gold plated open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and snap on bezel. The inner cover is signed “Modernista Patent”. The back is engraved with a monogram RA and the case has engine turning on the back. The case is in 75% mint condition – there is metal coming through on the sides and the back cover is sprained

    Dial – the gilt metal dial has a sub seconds and an aperture under the 12 which is the hour indicator. The watch has one blue steel hand which is the minute hand. This indicates the minutes in an arc from 0 to 60. When it reaches 60 it flies back to 0 and the hour disc jumps one hour on

    The dial is  signed MS under the hour and is decorated with engraving. It is in 90% mint condition – the central signature panel has been scratched and there are some scratches on the sub seconds dial

    The watch has a plastic glass

    The watch measures 49mm wide x 14mm deep
