16s 21J Hamilton 992B Railroad pocket watch with box 1952

This is an official American Railroad pocket watch made by the Hamilton Watch Co.

The watch is in excellent condition and comes in its original “cigarette” bakelite flip top box. The box is lined with blue velvet and is signed Hamilton on the lid and has the Hamilton crest on the front. The box has the lining for the main body but has lost the lining to the lid

Movement – this high grade ¾ plate nickel movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator and a gold capped escape wheel and lever. The movement is decorated with striped damascening. The movement is signed “Hamilton Watch Co, USA, 992B, 21 Jewels, Adj Temp & Six positions” # C375440.  The movement is in 95% mint condition – superb condition

Case – the movement comes in a 10K gold Filled open face Wandsworth watch case which has a screw off back and front. The case has turned detailing on the back and front bezels and a smooth plain finish on the back cover. The case has the patent stirrup bow over the winder and the winder is stamped “Hamilton Railroad”. The case is in 85% mint condition –there is a patch of light scratches on the back but overall a very clean case

Dial – the melamine dial is double sunk. It has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “Hamilton”. The dial is in 99% mint condition

The watch has a synthetic glass but this can be changed on request

The watch is stem wound / lever set

The watch measures 50mm x 14mm deep
