About this item
This is a gilt metal pocket watch key which was made circa 1790
The key has a rectangular gilt mount with carved detailing and a matching suspension loop which rotates a full 360 degrees
The key is set with a lovely example of a purple stone with bevelled edges
The key has a steel winding pipe which is a size 1-2 approx
The key measures 40mm x 19mm x 5mm
The key is in 85% mint condition – the gilding is dull which is common with the metal used in this period. The suspension loop, although not loose has a little wobble and the steel pipe has a fine coating of rust. However this key would still be an attractive pendant.
