18 size 17 Jewel Waltham Canadian Pacific railway pocket watch c1896

This is an Canadian Railroad grade pocket watch made by the Waltham Watch Co.

Movement – this is a model 1883 full plate movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator. The movement has raised gold jewel settings and is decorated with damascening. The movement is signed “Canadian Pacific Railway” within a shield with a beaver perched on top. The movement is also marked “17 Jewels, Adjusted” # 7822902 and is in 95% mint condition – a lovely example

Case – the movement comes in a Sterling silver open face case, which has a screw off back and front. The case has a engine turned sides with a smooth plain finish on the rest of the case. The case is in 90% mint condition – light wear only

Dial – the white enamel dial is double sunk and is signed “Waltham”. The dial is made for the Canadian market with an inner chapter ring of 24 hour numerals. The dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is in 99% mint condition – a tiny hairline under the sub seconds dial

The watch has a mineral glass

The watch measures 55mm wide x 21mm deep
