This is an 18s 21J pocket watch made by the Hamilton Watch Co, USA and is a Rail Road Grade pocket watch
Movement – an 18s grade 940 movement. A nickel full plate movement with a lever escapement, damascening and is signed “Hamilton Watch Co, Lancaster, Pa, 21 Jewels” # 1422859. The movement is in 95% mint condition – light marks only
Case – the movement comes in a 4 oz Sterling silver case which has screw on bezel. You then pull out the winder – this is quite still
The movement then swings out from the front
The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition – superb condition apart from one little nick
Dial – the white enamel double sunk dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “Hamilton Watch Co” . The dial is in 90% mint condition – a very faint hairline in the centre, a forked hairline on the 3 and a light hairline between 7-8
The watch has a thick bevelled mineral glass
The watch measures 60mm wide 20mm deep and weighs in total 196g / 6.88 ounces – this is a large and heavy watch
The watch is stem wound / lever set
