This is an American railroad grade pocket watch made by Waltham, USA.
This is a particularly heavy pocket watch and
Movement – the nickel full plate M1892 movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator. The movement has raised gold jewel settings, is decorated with damascening and has a diamond endstone. The movement is signed “Vangaurd, Waltham, Mass, 23 Ruby Jewels, Adjusted” # 12661846 and is in 95% mint condition – some small marks only
Case – the movement comes in a white metal oresilver case, which has a screw off back and bezel. The case has a smooth plain finish and engraved on the back “Denver and Rio Grande R.R. The case is in 95% mint condition – micro fine scratches only, a very good case
Dial – the white enamel is double sunk and comes with a full set of blue steel hands. The dial is signed “Waltham”. The dial is in 98% mint condition – a tiny chip right on the edge of the dial near the lever set which has spread to a very short and fine hairline which reaches the 2 but doesn’t go further
The watch has a thick bevelled mineral glass
The watch measures 55mm wide x 20mm deep
The watch is stem wound / lever set
