4oz 18s silver full hunter pocket watch by Waltham Appleton Tracy 1893

This is a large 18s full hunter which comes in a 4oz Sterling silver case.

Movement – the nickel full plate M#1883 17 jewel movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator and has gold jewel settings. The movement is decorated with damascening and is signed “Appleton, Tracy & Co, Waltham, Mass, Adjusted” # 5514910. The movement is in 95% mint condition

Case – the movement comes in a heavy 4 oz Sterling silver case – stamped Sterling and 4 to denote the weight and quality. The case has a hinged inner, back and front cover. The front cover pops open just a short way when you press the winder in and the front cover needs to be lifted to the full 90 degrees position. The case has deep coin edged sides, fancy floral engraving to the front and back, engine turning and gold hinges. The case is in 95% mint condition – a very impressive silver case just let down by the fact that the front cover doesn’t pop open fully

Dial – the white enamel double sunk dial has a full set of blue steel hands, is signed “American Waltham Watch Co” and is in 95% mint condition

The watch has a mineral glass

The watch measures 58mm wide x 21mm deep
