    About this item

This watch is sold in our Watches for restoration section and does not come with a warranty. If you are looking for watch with a full warranty, please go to our Stock page or ask for assistance to find what you are looking for.

It does not come with any warranty against the fusee chain breaking

This is an English silver pocket watch which has Birmingham hallmarks for 1826

The watch is ticking and running and keeps good time. It gains around 5 minutes in 24 hours

This watch has the original dial plate for the case but the movement was not original to the case and dial. It is all a very good fit and to most people they would have no idea that this is a “Marriage” but the “tell tale” signs are there. The winding hole on the inner cover, in my opinion, has been altered ever so slightly. Then the hole for the hands on the dial is slightly too large.

Movement – the gilt full plate movement is fusee driven with a verge escapement. It has a beautiful pierced watch cock and is in 80% mint condition – light scratches from the regulator

Case – the movement comes in an English silver open face case, which has a hinged back and bezel. The watch is wound from the back, set from the front and the movement is accessed from the front also. The case is decorated with coin edged sides and a smooth plain finish on the back. The case is in 75% mint condition many bruises and dents on the back but still a presentable case

Dial – the off white enamel dial is a later dial as the gap around the hands hole is a little large. It has gilt hands and is in 99% mint condition.

The watch has a mineral bulls eye glass

The watch measures 55mm wide x 25mm deep

The watch is key wound / key set and comes with an antique watch key
