About this item
This is a classic pocket watch from the early 1900s.
The watch was made by Syren in Switzerland and exported to England where it was housed in an elegant example of a case by Dennison. The case is better quality than normal and the watch looks and feels like a solid gold watch. Coupled with the luxury presentation box from Garrards, this would make and excellent gift.
Movement – the nickel ¾ plate movement is of higher quality than normally found on watches of this period. It has has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator and 17 Jewels with raised gold jewel screwed settings. The movement is signed “Syren, Swiss Made” and is in 90% mint condition – light marks only
Case – the movement comes in a superb example of a gold plated case made by Dennison which looks and feels and like a solid gold case. The case has a hinged back, inner and bezel. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition – a really good example.
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “Swiss Made”. The dial is in 99% - a small mark on the 10 but apart from that, flawless with even the blue steel hands having their original blue steel bloom
The watch has a bevelled mineral glass
The watch measures 50mm wide x 15mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set
The watch comes in a luxury leather presentation box from Garrards, Crown jewellers to our late Queen. The box is lined with silk and velvet.
