    About this item

This English silver pocket watch has clear hallmarks for London 1818

This a fusee chain driven watch – a fusee chain is a very delicate chain and easy to break if you have never had a watch before. This watch works well and keeps excellent time but please note we do not offer a warranty on the fusee chain should it break.

Movement – the top quality gilt full plate fusee movement has a gilt Duplex ‘scape wheel It has a chronometer type compensated balance with a diamond endstone and is jewelled throughout. The movement is signed “Barwise and Sons, London 7763” and is in 95% mint condition.

The movement has its original signed dust cap

Case – the movement comes in an English silver full hunter case, which has a hinged front cover, back cover and bezel. The watch is wound from the back, set from the front and is accessed from the front also. The deep silver case a smooth plain finish. The rest of the case has light engine turning and is in 90% mint condition – light signs of wear on this lovely example of an English hunter case. Please note the images probably do not show the good condition of this case. Due to the rounded nature of the case, light reflected off every surface during photography
