English Silver J W Benson pocket watch with original box c1924

This pocket watch was made for J W Benson of London in a Swiss factory. The movement watch was sent back to England where it was cased and sold. It comes in an English silver case which has clear hallmarks for Birmingham 1924

Movement – the nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and is signed “15 Jewels, Swiss Made”. The movement is in 90% mint condition – some small scratches only.

Case – the movement comes in an English silver open face case by Dennison, which has a hinged inner, back cover and bezel. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition – some small light marks on the back only

Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of gilt hands and is signed “J W Benson, London, Swiss Made”. The dial is in 99% mint condition – a tiny scratch on the dial and some fading on the signature

The watch is stem wound / stem Set

The watch measures 50mm x 16mm deep

The watch has a bevelled mineral glass

The watch comes in its original red leather box, lined with silk and velvet, signed “J W Benson, Ltd” The box does show light wear to the silk but is still a perfectly acceptable presentation box
