The watch has hallmarks for London 1912
This is an example of an English made J W Benson pocket watch with an English movement and case. The watch case has a few flaws which is reflected in the low price
Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has an adjusted. The movement is signed “The Bank, Best London Make, Ludgate Hill, London” # A6859. The movement is in 90% mint condition – small light cloudy stains
Case – the movement comes in an English silver half Hunter case where the front cover pops does NOT open when you press the winder in and needs to be opened manually. The case has makers marks for JWB 859”. The case has a smooth plain finish with a dark blue enamel chapter ring. The case is in 75% mint condition – the winder has lost is gilt cover, the front cover does not pop open and there is one bruises on the back
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “J W Benson, London”. The dial is in 99% mint condition.
The watch has a plastic glass over the dial and a smaller glass in the front cover
The watch is stem wound / pin set
The watch measures 51mm wide x 15mm deep
