The watch has clear hallmarks for London 1825

Movement – the gilt full plate fusee movement has a Massey II lever escapement. The movement is signed “Massey’s Patent” on the watch cock. The movement is in 90% mint condition – a very clean looking movement but it has a crudely engraved 1001 and IGW engraved lightly near the regulator. Also the watch has a stop start lever on one side, which is moving back and forth but the wire for this to start and stop the escape wheel is missing,

The movement has its original gilt dust cap

Inner case – the English silver inner case has a hinged bezel and the watch is wound from the back, set from the front and swings out from the front also. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition – some scratches on the back and a line of small dents

Outer case – this is the original outer case and comes with a watch paper from Glasgow. The case has a smooth plain finish, with original clasp and button and is in 95% mint condition – a very clean case

Dial – the off white enamel dial has a pair of gilt hands and a blue steel sub seconds hand. The dial is in 99% mint condition

The watch has a mineral glass

The watch measures 56mm wide x 26mm deep
