    About this item

This watch is sold in our Watches for restoration section and does not come with a warranty. If you are looking for watch with a full warranty, please go to our Stock page or ask for assistance to find what you are looking for.

This watch is running and keeps time to within 5-10 minutes a day. It has not been cleaned and serviced.

The watch is a superb example of an English duplex but the outer case doesn’t have the same hallmarks as the inner case. It is a perfect fit and was it not for the different hallmarks London 1812 and London 1830, you would think the outer was original. It is possible that it was made for the watch. Anyway if you can live with this discrepancy, it is a lovely watch

Movement – the gilt full plate fusee movement has a duplex escapement with a brass ‘scape wheel. The movement has a gilt 3 arm balance with three large weights and also a diamond endstone. The movement is signed “R Palmer, London, 911” and also “No 1911”

The movement is in 95% mint condition – a superb example

The movement has its original dust cap

Inner case – the inner case has a hinged bezel and the watch is wound from the back and set from the front and the movement is accessed from the front also. The case is numbered 911. It has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition – superb condition

Outer case – the movement comes in a silver outer case, which has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition – again superb condition

Dial – the off white enamel dial has a pair of gilt hands and a gilt sub seconds hand. The dial us numbered 911 and is in 100% mint condition

The watch measures 58mm wide x 25mm deep

The watch is key wound / key set and comes with an old key

The watch has a bulls eye glass
