    This watch has a good balance and chain but is fully wound and will only tick for a short time when prodded. It needs a clean and serviced.

    The movement is a hunter but comes in a silver open face case with hallmarks for London 1830

    Tregent was a famous maker and watchmaker to the King. This case although not original was purpose made to house this movement.

    Movement – this is a high quality gilt full plate fusee movement which has a pierced watch cock which features a large diamond endstone. The movement has a cylinder escapement with a brass ‘scape wheel. The movement is signed “James Tregent, Watchmaker to the Prince of Wales, London 3301”. The silver disc is engraved with an image of the sun and the watchcock has a grotesque face. The movement is in 95% mint condition – a superb movement

    The movement has its original gilt dust cap

    Case – the movement comes in an English silver open face case, which has a hinged bezel and back cover. The watch is wound from the back, set from the front and swings out from the front also. The case has coin edges, gold hinges and a smooth plain finish on the rest of the case. The case is in 90% mint condition – light wear only

    Dial – the off white enamel dial has a pair of gilt hands and is in 99% mint condition

    The watch has a mineral glass

    The watch is key wound / key set and comes with an old key

    The watch measures 55mm wide x 20mm deep
