This is an American pocket watch made by Waltham which was used by the British Government and military during the Second World War.
This watch has the rare inclusion of a bakelite case, allowing the watch to be affixed to a dashboard
Movement – the nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and is signed “Waltham Premier, 16s, USA, Nine Jewels, Adj Temp” # 31236813 and is in 95% mint condition – a good examples
Case – the movement comes in a white metal nickel open face case which has a screw on back and bezel. The back is engraved with a standard military issue arrow and also 273186. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition – superb condition for a military case.
Dial – the black dial has old Luminous hands and numbers. It is signed “ Waltham” and is in 99%mint condition – small tiny marks only
The watch is stem wound / stem set
The watch measures 51mm wide x 14mm deep.
The watch has a mineral glass
The watch comes with a two piece bakelite case which a screw on bezel and a back case with three screw holes allowing it to be fixed to a dashboard etc
