Pristine 16s 23J Hamilton 950E pocket watch c1939

This is a superb example of one of the best and rarest Hamilton Railroad pocket watches, the 16 size 23 Jewel 950E – Elinvar.

Movement – the high quality bridge movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator. The movement has gold train wheels, raised gold jewel settings, gold capped lever and is decorated with damascening. The movement is signed “Hamilton Watch Co, Lancaster, Pa, Motor Barrel, 950, 23J, Adjusted to 5 positions” #2618594. The movement is also signed “Elinvar” under the balance (the E suffix) and is in 95% mint condition – superb condition

Case – the movement comes in a Wandsworth, 10K gold filled case which has a screw off back and bezel with the patent Hamilton bar over the winder. The case has carved sides and the rest of the case has a smooth plain finish. The case is in 95% mint condition with very little wear and even the bow is still stiff from little or no use

Dial – the white enamel dial is double sunk and has a full set of blue steel hands. The dial is signed “Hamilton” and is in 100% flawless condition, even the hands have their original blue steel bloom

The watch has a synthetic glass

The watch measures 50mm wide x 15mm deep
